If you are reading this you are hopefully considering coming with us on a Yoga Retreat in Greece to Amorgos with us on the
26th August – 2nd September 2013.
This is a small Greek Island offering tranquility and divine vistas from a hotel that is set up on a mountain with the beach below. It really doesn’t get much better than this!
The Aegialis Hotel & Spa offers amazing facilities and views (check out the photos below) and we offer amazing yoga for both you and your children (if you have any that is!!!).
So as this retreat/holiday is in a Hotel setting (55 rooms in total), we are offering it to both adults and families. Click here to visit the hotel site.
YOGA:
There will be a 2 hr. yoga session for the Adults each morning with me and a hr. or longer (once things have cooled down) in the afternoon/evenings with Helen or me, we understand that this may be siesta / beach time so not making the afternoon a big deal!
The children (*aged 4 – 13) will have a 2 hr. session in the mornings with Helen crowdey (who is a very experienced childrens yoga expert) at the same time as the adults session, where they will have AMAZING fun and explore the world of yoga and much more
*(If you have a younger child that wants to participate please communicate with us – it may be do-able)
If you are coming without children and want some tranquility away from them, that is also cool – the hotel has 55 rooms so there is plenty of space to get away from giggling and plenty of beaches as well to visit. Helen and I travel with our families so we love incorporating the children’s yoga into our holidays but it doesn’t mean you have to 🙂
You can enrich your retreat with special activities like cooking classes, herbal tours, hikking, greek dancing lessons, diving and snorkelling.
The Hotel has a baby sitting service if needed and a nursery (kindergarden), which is open from 9.00-16.00 everyday, this is for children aged 3-6 and a fee is required of 9 Euros per hr. Children under 3 are charged at 10 euros per hr for baby sitting.
Our restaurant “Ambrosia” offers fresh healthy food using organic vegetables cultivated in our own gardens. They serve vegeterian and vegan dishes.

How to get there:
You fly to Athens airport and then get a ferry to Amorgos – this is a very beautiful crossing (7 hrs) seeing all the islands along the way & apparently the ferries are comfortable with cafes etc – we will have our IPAD packed with childrens movies for this; there is then an included transfer from the port to the hotel (15 mins) – depending on how many people are on the same flights we may be able to get a coach but this we won’t know until much later down the line. The ferry is about 35 euros.
The ferry leaves daily at 17.30 so you need to get a flight to arrive by 16.00 at the latest to make the ferry crossing (we’ve looked and BA offer the best flights as easyjet land too late to get the ferry the same day + you can take a case at not extra cost!! – saying that a night in Athens may not be a bad idea for sight see-ers!)
You can also fly to Santorini (divine Island) and get a ferry from there – this ferry is only 3 hrs but the flights are obviously more expensive.
